It would appear that the only thing getting better within the NHS is the quality and safety of the electrical installation.
Section 710 in my opinion is by far one of the most comprehensive and well written areas within good old BS7671. It’s a bit of a chore to read and to be honest for normal everyday sparkies I wouldn’t recommend studying it too much. Just be aware of where it is and save it ‘just in case of emergencies’ (much like the NHS).
Sticking my head on the block, I’ve yet to see questions on it within the C&G 2382-12 exam. Yet!
Update: Jan 2014 heard that this is currently under revision by the IET as many within the industry have deemed it unworkable.
